Lajpat Nagar IV is where we keep our stuff, at M 7. We’ve got a warehouse filled with poles, brightly colored fabrics, and giant cooking pots. Om SAI Caterers & Tent Decorators has been setting up for local weddings and small house parties for a long time. It’s a messy business. One day we’re hauling heavy metal frames into a truck, and the next we’re making sure the table cloths aren't stained. We spend a lot of time on the road, going from one venue to another. The office at M 7 is where we sit down with families to talk about what they need. It’s not very fancy, mostly just a couple of chairs and some albums of photos from past events. We don’t have a big sales team. It’s usually just a few of us handling everything. Sometimes things get hectic during the wedding season and we barely sleep. We’ve got to make sure the food is warm and the tent stays up even if it gets windy. Dealing with the traffic in Lajpat Nagar is the hardest part. Trying to park a large truck near M 7 is always a struggle. But we’ve lived and worked here long enough to know the shortcuts. We don't use many big words or promises. We just bring the stuff, set it up, and take it down when the party is over. It’s hard work but it’s what we do.
