It's one of those narrow lanes where everyone knows each other’s business. We’ve been set up here for a while, dealing with all sorts of mobile phone issues and recharges. The GPO area is always crowded, and our little spot in the gali is no different. It’s a bit of a maze to get here if you aren't from around this part of Delhi, but once you find us, we're usually just sitting behind the glass counter. We deal with a lot of older phones that people don't want to give up on yet. It’s a lot of fiddling with small parts and trying to get signals to work again. We don’t have much space, so things can get a little cluttered with boxes and wires everywhere. Sometimes the power goes out in the lane and we just have to sit and wait with the neighbors until it comes back on. It’s just how things are here. We talk to people who come in for a quick top-up or to ask about a new SIM card. There’s no big corporate vibe here, just a local shop where we try to get through the day's work. It gets dusty being so close to the main roads, so we’re always wiping down the display. It's a humble way to earn a living, and we plan to stay here for a while.
