Nikki Tele Plaza

Our place is at Nangloi 42, right in the middle of everything. Nikki Tele Plaza is where we sell mobile phones and all the little accessories that go with them. It’s not a very big shop, but we pack a lot into it. We have those glass counters filled with cases of all different colors. Most days we are busy helping people figure out which phone fits their budget or fixing a cracked screen that someone dropped. It’s a lot of squinting at small parts and using tiny screwdrivers. The street outside is always full of people and noise, so it’s never quiet here. We usually have some music playing quietly in the back to help pass the time. My friend helps me out during the evening rush when everyone is coming home from work and wants to top up their data. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything fancy like that. We just show up, open the shutters, and start the day. Sometimes we run out of a popular item and have to tell people to come back tomorrow, which happens more than I’d like. It’s a local business and we know a lot of the regular customers who live in the apartments nearby. We just try to be helpful and keep the shop running smoothly without making a big fuss about things. That is basically our daily routine here in Nangloi.
