New Sangan Tent House

Out here on the Narela Safiyabad Road, things feel a bit different than the main city. It’s more open but there is a lot of dust from the passing trucks. New Sangan Tent House is basically where we store all our stuff. We’ve got piles of fabric and iron frames everywhere. It’s a lot of heavy lifting. My back usually aches by the end of the day. We spend most of our time out at sites, hammering pegs into the ground or climbing ladders to string up lights. It is not an easy job but it’s what we do. The storage space is a bit of a mess right now because we just finished a big event and everything came back at once. We need to sort through the linens and see what needs washing. Sometimes people stop by and ask for a quote, and we just write it down on a piece of scrap paper. We don't use computers much for that stuff. It’s all very manual. The road outside is always busy with people heading toward Safiyabad. We see the same faces every day. It gets very hot in the summer under the tin roof of our shed. We just keep the fan running and get through the work. It’s honest work, and it keeps food on the table, so we don’t complain much about the heat or the heavy lifting.
