Neha Mobiles

Neha Mobiles is a small shop over in Kalkaji, right in the Govindpuri area at 155415. The street outside is narrow and usually packed with scooters parked every which way. If you come looking for us, you have to keep your eyes open because the sign isn't very large. Inside, it’s mostly just a workbench and a couple of shelves. We deal with mobile phones all day long. Repairs, software updates, or just putting on a new screen guard. It gets very dusty because of all the construction happening nearby, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the glass. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just a pedestal fan that we move around depending on where we are sitting. It’s a family-run kind of place. Sometimes my nephew comes in to help out when he’s not at school. We know the other shop owners on this block pretty well. We share snacks and complain about the heat together. People come to us because we are right here in the neighborhood and they don't want to go all the way to a big mall. We don't promise anything impossible. We just look at the phone and tell them if we can fix it or not. It’s a basic way to make a living. The hours are long, but we’ve gotten used to the routine of opening up and closing late every night.
