Mashhoor Tent House

We’ve been here at Fatehpuri Chowk Katra Baryan 41281 for a long time now. My father started Mashhoor Tent House years ago, and I just sort of took over when he got older. Mostly, we spend our days loading and unloading bamboo poles and heavy canvas from the trucks. It’s hard work, especially when it’s hot outside and the dust from the street gets into everything. People come to us when they have a wedding or a small function in the neighborhood. Sometimes they want something fancy with lots of fabric, and other times they just need a basic setup for some guests to sit under. We try to keep things organized, but the shop gets cluttered with fabric and ropes pretty fast. It’s not a big fancy office or anything like that. Just a workspace where we get things done. Most of our neighbors know us by now. We see the same faces every morning when we open up and sweep the front. If the weather looks like it might rain, we have to move fast to make sure the tents stay up and the rugs don't get soaked. It’s just how it is here. We aren't trying to be the biggest in the city, just keeping busy with what we know. My cousin helps out with the bookings, and usually, there’s tea going on the stove in the back. It’s a simple life and it keeps us busy enough.
