Manohar Golds

You can find Manohar Golds over in Jawahar Nagar at number 48. It’s a small shop where we deal with jewelry and gold items. It’s not like those huge showrooms you see in the malls. We keep things more personal here. The shop has glass counters where we display a few pieces, but a lot of what we do is custom work for people who live in the area. We’ve known some of our customers since they were kids. It’s a very local way of doing business. The street outside can get quite dusty, so we are always wiping down the glass to keep the pieces looking clear. We don't have security guards in suits; we just have a solid shutter and we know everyone who walks in. Sometimes people just stop by to say hello or ask about the current rates. We have a small safe in the back and a workbench where we can do minor repairs if a chain breaks or a ring needs resizing. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we sell. Gold is gold, and people know its value. We just try to be fair and honest with everyone who comes through the door. It’s a quiet life, mostly, spent looking through magnifying glasses and weighing things on our little scale. We’ve been at this spot for a long time and we don't plan on moving anytime soon because we like the neighbors and the rhythm of the street.
