Our little corner in Janakpuri at D-1/A-140 is always a bit hectic. It’s a small room really, filled with posters and scratch cards. Most of the day is spent staring at a computer screen or handling small cash. People come in in a hurry, usually because their data ran out or they need to pay a bill. We’ve been at this address for quite a while now. The chair I sit on has seen better days, and the desk is cluttered with old ledgers. It’s a noisy area, so you have to speak up to be heard over the traffic outside. We don't really have a lobby or anything, just a small space for people to stand. Sometimes the internet goes down and we just have to wait it out with the customers. It’s not a fancy business, just a basic service point for the local residents. We know which neighbors always forget their phone numbers and which ones come in exactly on the first of the month. It's funny how you get to know people's habits just by what they buy. We keep a cooler for water in the corner, which gets used a lot in May. There’s no big team here, just us doing the work day in and day out. It’s a steady kind of life in this part of Janakpuri. We usually close up once the street lights have been on for a while.
