Laxmi Music Centre

Laxmi Music Centre sits at Kotla Mubarakpur 1893. It is a busy spot and we have been here for quite some time now. Most mornings start with the sound of the shutters going up and the street waking up. We deal with music things, mostly instruments and some parts that people need for their gear. It’s not a fancy showroom or anything like that. The walls are covered with things we’ve collected over the years. You might see a guitar hanging next to some traditional drums. People from the neighborhood stop by often. Some are serious about music and others just want to get something fixed so they can play at home. We spend a lot of our day just checking strings or cleaning up the wood on the instruments. It gets dusty pretty fast around here with the traffic outside. Kotla Mubarakpur is a crowded area, so there is always someone walking past the door. We don't have any big corporate plans. We just like being around music and the people who play it. Sometimes we sit and talk about old songs with the regulars who have been coming here for years. It’s a simple life. We keep the shop open until late most days because that’s when people have time to visit. We don’t mind the long hours. It is just how things work in this part of town. Every day is a bit different but the music stays the same.
