King Music Corner

New Moti Nagar is a quiet enough place compared to some other parts of Delhi, and we’ve been here in Phase II for a good bit now. King Music Corner is tucked away at number 1, and it’s where I spend most of my days. The shop isn't very large, so every bit of wall space is covered with something. I started this because I just liked being around music and speakers. We have a lot of different things coming through the door. Sometimes it’s someone looking for an old cable or a specific type of speaker repair. I usually have something playing in the background while I work, though it’s not always what people want to hear. The neighborhood has changed over the years but this corner stays pretty much the same. People drop in just to talk sometimes, which is fine by me. I keep my tools on the main counter and there’s always a half-finished project sitting there. It’s not the cleanest shop you’ll ever see, but I know where everything is. Finding parts for some of the older stuff can be a real pain, but I enjoy the challenge of it. Most days are just steady. I open up in the morning, sweep the front, and see who comes by. It’s a decent way to spend the time and it keeps me connected to the local folks. It is just a small business and that is how I like it.
