Kapoor Tent House

Down at DDA Market 2 in Janakpuri, we run Kapoor Tent House. We’ve been handling tents, chairs, and all that stuff for local functions for a long time. It’s a heavy job, moving all those poles and folded fabrics around. Our warehouse space is usually a bit of a jumble. When there’s a wedding or a small party nearby, things get very frantic. We have to load the trucks, make sure the cloth isn't torn, and check that we have enough spoons and plates. It’s not the kind of job where you stay clean. Most of the time we are lifting things or sorting through stacks of chairs. Sometimes a customer is worried about the rain or the wind, and we just have to tell them we’ll do our best to tie everything down tight. We don't have a fancy office with a receptionist. You usually find us out back checking the laundry or counting the bamboo poles. It’s a practical business. We’ve seen all sorts of events, from small birthdays to big community gatherings. Things break sometimes, or stuff gets lost, and we just have to deal with it. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We provide the setup so people can have their gatherings. It’s hard on the back, but it’s what we’ve been doing for years. We just keep the inventory ready and wait for the next call.
