Jeetu Tent & Light House

We have been operating Jeetu Tent & Light House out of the G-8 area in Rajouri Garden for many years. It is a lot of work handling the poles and the heavy fabric for the tents, especially during the wedding season when everyone wants things done at the same time. Our warehouse is where we keep all the metal frames, the colored cloths, and the crates of decorative lights. When a call comes in, we load up the small truck and head out to whichever park or backyard needs setting up. It is mostly manual work, lifting and tying knots and making sure the lights do not flicker. Sometimes the weather does not cooperate and we have to rush to cover everything before it rains. In the off-season, we spend time untangling wires and checking the bulbs. The shop itself is just a place where people come to sit on the plastic chairs and talk about their event dates. My brother and I manage the bookings. We do not use any fancy computer systems, just a thick ledger where we write down the addresses and the dates. Rajouri Garden is a busy place, so there is always someone having a small function or a gathering that needs some shade or a bit of extra lighting. We just do our job and move on to the next site. It is simple work but it keeps us on our feet.
