Hype

So we've been here on Ashoka Road for a while now. Connaught Place is always moving, you know how it is with the traffic and people constantly rushing to catch the metro or heading to some office. Hype started because we just wanted a spot where things felt real. It isn't a fancy setup with glass walls and silent halls. Sometimes the fans make a bit of noise and the chairs are just what we could get at the time. We spend most of our mornings just getting the place ready, wiping down tables and checking if the lights are working right. It’s a lot of work that people don't really see. Sometimes the weather gets really hot in Delhi and we just try to keep things cool enough for everyone. The street outside is loud but inside we just do our thing. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we kind of know where everything is without looking. It’s not about being the most popular place on the block, it’s just about being here day after day. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit, new shops opening and old ones closing down, but we’re still right here on this corner. People drop by when they’re tired of walking around the circle. It’s just us, doing what we do, trying to make it through the busy hours without too much trouble. That’s pretty much the whole story.
