Giri Mobile Service

Giri Mobile Service is situated at D-89/2 in Khari Baoli. If you have ever been to Khari Baoli, you know it is one of the busiest markets around with all the spice smells and the crowds. Our shop is quite small, really just enough room for a repair bench and a small space for customers to stand. We focus on fixing mobile phones, mostly cracked screens and batteries that won't charge anymore. I spend most of my day looking through a magnifying glass at tiny circuit boards. It’s delicate work and my eyes get tired by the end of the day. The shop is filled with old phone parts and boxes of tools. I don't have a big team, just myself and one assistant who helps with the easier jobs. We get a lot of walk-in customers because we are right in the middle of the market. Sometimes it’s so loud outside with the shouting and the horns that we have to raise our voices to talk to the customers. My desk is a mess of tiny screws and bits of wire. I usually have a cup of tea getting cold next to my tools. People usually just leave their phones and come back after they finish their grocery shopping. We try to be honest about what can be fixed and what’s a waste of money. It’s a humble little shop in an old part of the city.
