Garvin Telecom

Over in the Kondli area, specifically at Kalyan Puri 16/423, we have our little shop called Garvin Telecom. It is a pretty small space, probably not much bigger than a walk-in closet. We have a glass counter that is filled with mobile covers, and some of them have turned a bit yellow because of the sun hitting them through the door. The walls are covered with all sorts of charging cables and cheap earphones hanging in plastic bags. Most of our time is spent hunched over a workbench with a magnifying glass, trying to fix phone motherboards. People bring in phones that they dropped in water or screens that are smashed into a hundred pieces. We don't always have the parts in stock, so we have to tell people to come back in a couple of days. They don't always like hearing that, but we do our best with what we have. We also handle recharges and sell SIM cards to the people living nearby. It is a lot of small talk and tiny transactions throughout the day. The neighborhood is very lively, so there is always someone standing by the door just to chat or ask for the time. We have a small fan that barely works, but it is better than nothing in the humid weather. We stay open until the evening rush is over because that is when most people need their phones fixed.
