Gagan Telecom Centre

You can find Gagan Telecom Centre over in Paharganj at 1356 Sangatrashan Bazar. This neighborhood never really sleeps because of all the travelers and the market nearby. Our shop is a small spot where we help people with their phones. We sell recharge vouchers, fix broken buttons, and help people set up their new devices. I’ve seen the technology change from those old black and white screens to the big touchscreens everyone has now. Sangatrashan Bazar is a very old market and the shops are built quite close together. We have a glass front that shows off some basic phone covers and earphones. It’s nothing like the fancy malls you see in other parts of the city. We keep it simple. Usually, there is a small television playing in the background to keep us occupied when there are no customers. Many of the people who come in are locals who have lived in Paharganj for generations. They come to us because they trust we won't overcharge them for a simple repair. Sometimes tourists wander in looking for a local sim card and we try to help them out with the paperwork. It gets a bit chaotic when the festival season starts and the street is packed with stalls. We just keep the door open and wait for whoever needs help with their mobile. It has been our daily routine for a long time now.
