Abdul Fazal Enclave is a very dense and lively part of town, and our shop, Falahi Communication, is situated at I D 105. We have been working from this location for quite a while, and we’ve seen all sorts of mobile problems come across our counter. The shop is quite narrow, so we have to be very smart about how we use the space for our tools and the boxes of new stock. Most of our day involves sitting at the workbench with small tools and trying to fix hardware issues on different smartphones. We get a lot of students and families from the enclave coming in because they know we are right here in the neighborhood. Some people just want a new phone cover, while others have serious issues like water damage. We have a small fan that runs all day to try and keep the place cool, but it still gets quite warm in the middle of the day. It has a real local feel to it, and we often have people just standing around chatting while they wait for their repairs. The noise from the street is always there, but after being here for so long, you just stop hearing it. We try to keep things as tidy as possible, but with so many tiny screws and parts, the desk is usually a bit of a mess by evening. It’s a simple operation and we just take it as it comes.
