Expert Mobile & Watch Centre

Expert Mobile & Watch Centre is situated at Shop No 18 in the Kashmiri Market, right in the heart of Connaught Place. Being in such a busy part of Delhi means there is never a quiet moment with the constant hum of people and traffic outside. The shop is quite cramped because I have to fit a workbench, various tools, and display cases for watches all in one small area. I spend hours every day peering through a magnifying glass at tiny gears or mobile circuit boards. My eyes often get tired by the evening, but there is always another watch battery to change or a broken screen to look at. The market has an old-fashioned feel to it, and many of my customers are people who have been coming to this same spot for decades. Sometimes tourists get lost and wander in asking for directions, and I do my best to help them out. It’s a bit dusty in here because of all the construction that seems to happen in CP, and I’m constantly wiping down the glass counters. There isn’t a team of experts or a customer service desk; it’s just me and my tools doing the work as it comes in. I enjoy the rhythm of the day, even if the space is tight and the light isn't always perfect for delicate repairs. It is just a practical, honest little shop that has stood its ground while the city changed around it.
