Durga Musical Group

Our group is based in Gurgaon, specifically at 464/12, Gali No-5 in Arjun Nagar. It is a pretty cramped area with narrow streets, so getting our instruments in and out can be a bit of a challenge sometimes. We are usually busy preparing for local festivals or family events. The group has been around for several years, and we have seen Gurgaon change from a small town into this massive city. Even with all the big buildings now, we still mostly work in the older neighborhoods where people appreciate traditional music. We don't have a professional studio or anything polished. Our space in Arjun Nagar is just where we keep the drums, the harmoniums, and the speakers. On most days, you can hear us practicing or just talking about the next gig. It is tiring work, especially during the summer months when we have to perform outside for hours. We aren't doing this for fame or anything; it’s just our trade. Most of our bookings come through word of mouth. Someone hears us at a wedding and then calls us for their own event. We don't use fancy social media to get work. We just stay here in the Gali and wait for the phone to ring or for someone to knock on the door. It’s a simple, honest way to live, and we are quite content with the way things are going.
