Dinesh Tent & Light House

Our shop is right near the Subzi Mandi in Mukeem Pura, which means it’s always crowded and noisy around here. Being at number 792 in Gulabi Bagh makes for some interesting days with all the people coming for their vegetables. Dinesh Tent & Light House is basically just a place where we keep all our gear. We’ve got stacks of lights, bundles of wire, and all the heavy tent poles tucked away. It gets pretty cramped inside, especially when we are trying to test the bulbs before a job. Working with lights means we are often the last ones to leave an event. We wait for the party to end and then we start taking everything down in the dark. It’s a lot of untangling cords and making sure nothing got broken. People in Kamla Nagar know us mostly by word of mouth. We don’t really do much besides the work itself. If the lights work and the tent stays up, then we’ve done what we needed to do. Some of these light strings are pretty old, but they still shine bright. We spend a lot of time sitting on the plastic stools outside the shop, waiting for the next truck to arrive or just chatting with the neighbors. It’s a busy life but it feels right being part of the market chaos every day. We just keep our heads down and worry about the next job.
