Our spot is right at the Kashmere Gate Metro Station, at shops 34 and 35. It is a very busy location because of all the commuters moving through the station every single minute. I hear the sound of the metro trains pulling in and the announcements all day long. It becomes a kind of background noise after a while. We mainly handle mobile recharges, SIM cards, and small gadgets that people might need while they are traveling. The space is quite compact, so we have to be very organized with how we stack the recharge vouchers and the mobile accessories. I usually stand behind the counter for most of the shift because there isn't much room to sit down comfortably. People are always in a rush here, wanting things done quickly so they don't miss their next train. We see thousands of faces every day, most of them just passing by in a blur. Sometimes we have to help people figure out their phone settings or why their balance is low. It is a fast-paced environment and it can be quite tiring by the end of the day. We don't have much time for long conversations. We just provide what the commuters need and keep the line moving. It is a practical little center in the middle of one of the busiest transport hubs in the city. When the metro closes for the night, that is when we finally get some quiet to count the day's earnings.
