Diksha Tent House

We are located at Pragati Maidan Jain Mandir, specifically on the Main 40 Futa Road in Rama Vihar. Running Diksha Tent House means we are usually surrounded by stacks of metal pipes, folded up carpets, and big bundles of colorful cloth. The shop is right where all the local traffic passes, so it’s never really quiet. During the wedding months, things get very chaotic. We have to load these heavy iron poles onto the back of small trucks at five in the morning. My back usually starts aching by lunch time, but that is just part of the job. The Jain Mandir is a good landmark for people to find us, otherwise, they might get lost in the lanes of Rama Vihar. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning. It’s mostly just a warehouse space where we keep all the decorations and chairs. When it rains, we have to hurry to make sure the fabric doesn't get soaked or muddy. The neighbors often stop by to complain about our trucks blocking the road for a few minutes while we unload. We try to be quick, but some of those wooden stages are really heavy. It’s a lot of physical labor and coordinating with the boys who go out to set up the tents. Most of the day is just spent checking the inventory and making sure nothing got torn at the last event. It is a messy business but it keeps us on our toes.
