Devinder Kumar Mahajan & Brothers is located right on the Main Road of Azad Market, at number 7-A. Being on the main road means it’s never quiet. There are people, carts, and vehicles moving past our door from dawn till dusk. It’s a hectic place to work, but it keeps us on our toes. The shop is more of a functional space than anything else. We have shelves filled with things and a small area where we sit and talk to whoever comes in. It’s a family business at its heart, as the name suggests. We’ve been in Azad Market for a long time, and we know most of the other shopkeepers around here. We trade stories about the market and the weather while we work. It’s not a polished environment. There’s dust from the road and the paint is peeling in some corners, but we don't mind. We focus on getting things done for the people who rely on us. Sometimes we have to deal with the chaos of the market, like when a truck gets stuck or the rain floods the road. We just take it in stride. It’s part of being in this part of the city. We don't try to be something we aren't. Just a straightforward business at 7-A. It’s loud, it’s dusty, and it’s always busy, but this is where we belong. We just take one day at a time and do what's needed for the folks who stop by.
