Cool Cell Services

Working out of Inderlok at A-18/141 is how we spend our time. Cool Cell Services is basically a small workshop where we deal with mobile phones and gadgets. The space is small, filled with tiny screws, screens, and soldering irons. You have to have steady hands for this kind of work. People bring in phones that have been dropped or just stopped working for no reason. We take them apart and see what’s wrong inside. Sometimes it’s an easy fix, other times it takes a few days to find the right replacement part. It can get a bit cluttered on the workbench with all the wires. We started this because we liked fiddling with electronics when we were younger. Now it is a full-time job. The area here is always moving, and we get people from all over the neighborhood. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. You just walk in and talk to whoever is behind the counter. We keep the lights on late most nights because there is always one more phone to finish before going home. It’s not a glamorous life, but it pays the bills and keeps us busy. We've learned a lot about how these machines work over the years. Most of the time, it's just us and the radio playing in the background while we work. It’s hard work but it’s ours.
