We provide all the basics for local functions, like the large colorful tents you see at neighborhood weddings or religious gatherings. We also have a lot of tables and chairs that we rent out. Most of our inventory is stored in a warehouse nearby because the market shop is mostly for taking orders and talking to customers. I sit at the front desk with my old ledger and a calculator, figuring out the costs for different setups. The tents we have come in many different patterns, some quite old-fashioned and others a bit newer. We spend a lot of time checking the fabric for holes and making sure the poles aren't rusted. It’s a family-run thing, and we have a small crew of workers who do the heavy lifting. They are good guys who work hard in the heat. During the rainy season, things get a bit slow because nobody wants to have an outdoor event, so we use that time to repair our gear. We don’t use any fancy language to describe what we do. We just provide the tents and the seating, show up when we are supposed to, and take it all down when the party is over.
