Battu Communication

Battu Communication is tucked away in Gali No 18 of Tughlakabad Extension. The address is Rz255, and if you know this area, you know how the lanes can be a bit of a maze sometimes. I’ve spent many years in this particular spot, watching the neighborhood change around us while we stay pretty much the same. The shop is narrow, so we have to be careful about where we stack the boxes. I usually sit right by the entrance so I can see everyone coming down the gali. There is an old wooden table we use for repairs that has scratches all over it from years of tools being dropped. It’s a bit dark inside because the buildings are so close together, but the overhead tube light does its job well enough. In the rainy season, the street outside gets a bit muddy, so we spend a lot of time mopping the floor to keep the mud off the customer area. We don't have any fancy displays or bright flashing lights. It’s just a practical space where we handle phone recharges, SIM cards, and basic repairs. Most of the people who come in are neighbors we've known for a decade. We talk about the local news or the latest power cut while I work. It’s a slow pace some days and a frantic one on others, depending on how many people need help at once. We stay here until the late evening when the street finally gets quiet.
