Batra Tent House

Batra Tent House is over here in Lajpat Nagar, specifically at number 21 near the Defence Colony area. It’s a very active neighborhood, and we have seen it change quite a bit over the years we've been here. We handle tents, chairs, and all those other things people need when they are putting together a gathering or an event. It involves a lot of heavy lifting and constantly moving things around from one place to another. My brother and I run the show, and we usually have a small crew of young guys who help us with the actual setups on-site. It is not always easy work, especially when the weather turns bad suddenly or there is a last-minute change in the plans. We don't have a corporate setup or anything like that. It’s more about sitting on the plastic chairs in the shop and talking through what people need for their functions. We’ve done all sorts of things, from weddings to small birthdays and local street events. We know most of the people around this part of town. Sometimes things get a bit chaotic during the peak wedding season, but we always manage to get through it somehow. Our storage space is usually packed to the ceiling with metal poles and folded fabrics. We spend a lot of time cleaning and repairing the gear after it comes back from a job. It’s hard work, but seeing a whole setup come together is a good feeling for us. We just want to make sure the stuff gets there.
