Basit Tent House

Basit Tent House is located right near the Chawri Bazar Metro Station, at 2043-A. If you know Chawri Bazar, you know how packed it gets. There’s always someone moving something on a cart or a rickshaw trying to squeeze through. Our place is full of poles, heavy fabrics, and all the stuff needed to set up for a function. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving things back and forth. When wedding season starts, we hardly get any sleep. We are out late at night setting up tents and then back early to take them down. The area around the metro station is always buzzing with people. We’ve been in this spot for a long time now. It’s a family-run kind of thing, not some big corporation with suits. We just know how to build a sturdy structure that won’t fall over if the wind picks up. The fabrics need a lot of washing and upkeep because they get dusty quite fast in this part of town. It’s a bit chaotic inside the shop with all the rolls of cloth and metal pipes leaning against the walls. But we have a system that works for us. We don't spend time on fancy advertising. Most people just walk in or call us because they’ve seen our work at a neighbor's house. That’s how we’ve always done it here in Chawri Bazar.
