Barkat Communication

We have been running Barkat Communication at Paharganj Sadar Thana Road 9201/3 for a long time now. It’s a very busy spot and the noise from the street never really stops. Every morning starts with pulling up the heavy iron shutters and sweeping out the dust that blows in from the main road. We don't have a lot of space, just a couple of glass counters and some old stools for people to sit on while they wait. Most of our work is just fixing small problems with mobile phones or helping someone get a new sim card working. We see all sorts of people here because the railway station is so close. Travelers come in looking for chargers or local cards all the time. Sometimes the heat in the afternoon is quite bad and our old ceiling fan just moves the warm air around. We keep some cold water in a clay pot for ourselves and the customers. It’s not a fancy office with air conditioning or anything like that. We just do the work as it comes. Sometimes things get a bit disorganized when we have a lot of repairs to finish by the evening. We know the other shop owners on this block and we usually share some tea in the afternoons. It is a simple way to make a living and we have been doing it this way for years. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in Delhi, just a reliable place in Paharganj where you can get your phone sorted without much fuss.
