Baljeet Telecom is right in the heart of the Gandhi Nagar Main Market at number 78. Everyone knows Gandhi Nagar for the clothes, but people here need their phones working too, and that’s where we come in. The market is incredibly crowded almost every day of the week, so there’s never a quiet moment. We’ve been here for quite some time, squeezed in among all the other shops. Our main focus is keeping people’s mobile devices running. We see a lot of phones with water damage or screens that have been stepped on in the crowd. We do what we can to bring them back to life. Our shelves are packed with all sorts of accessories, from the cheapest earphones to more durable cases. We don't really do fancy displays; it's more about having the right part when someone asks for it. A lot of the local traders from the garment shops come to us because they can't afford to have their phones down for long. We try to work fast. It’s a busy life here, and we are just one small part of this massive market ecosystem. We handle new connections and recharges as well. It’s honest, fast-paced work and we’ve built up a good number of regular customers over the years who trust us with their gadgets. It’s a tough spot to work in, but we wouldn't have it any other way.
