Ashoka Fire Works

You can find us at Ashoka Fire Works, located at C10/36 on the 100 Feet Road in Kabir Nagar. Our business is quite seasonal, so things go from very quiet to incredibly busy depending on the time of year. Most of the shop is filled with stacks of colorful boxes, and I have to be very careful about how everything is stored. Safety is something I’m always thinking about, especially with the kind of items we keep on the shelves. During the festival months, the shop gets packed with families and kids who are excited to see what we have. I spend those days mostly on my feet, showing people the different types of crackers and sparklers. On the slower days, I’m usually just checking the stock or making sure the shop is clean and dry. The 100 Feet Road is a good location because it's easy for people to pull over and pick something up. It’s a family-run thing, so you’ll often see my brothers or cousins helping out when the rush starts. We’ve been in Kabir Nagar for years and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. I don't think it's good to make things complicated; people just want something that works and is safe for their celebrations. It’s a lot of work to keep up with the rules and the busy periods, but it’s what we do. I just take it one day at a time and keep things moving.
