Arshi Tent House

Down in North Ghonda, specifically Gali Number 8 on Yamuna Vihar Road, you will find our spot at C-1468. It is not a very big place, but we keep all the tent poles, fabrics, and chairs tucked away inside. Setting up for functions is a lot more tiring than people think. You have to haul all that heavy metal and thick cloth in and out of the trucks. Some days the weather is nice, but other times we are out there in the rain or the direct sun trying to get things standing straight. We’ve been operating from this same street for a long time. The neighbors know us well enough by now. We usually have a few guys sitting out front when there isn't a big job going on, just waiting for the next truck to arrive or for someone to come by and ask about dates. It’s a messy business sometimes, with dust getting into everything and the fabrics needing constant cleaning. We don't use any of those fancy computer systems to track everything; mostly just notebooks and memory. It works for us. North Ghonda is a busy area, so there is always noise from the traffic on Yamuna Vihar Road right outside our door. It keeps things interesting, even on the slow days. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing, making sure the tents are up when they are supposed to be.
