If you drive up Mussoorie Diversion Road toward Bhagwantpur, you’ll find us tucked away. Dehradun has changed a lot, but this part of town still feels a bit quieter than the main city. Unison World School sits on a decent-sized piece of land. We spend a lot of our time looking after the grounds and making sure the girls have what they need for their classes. It’s a big responsibility, really. The weather here can be a bit unpredictable; sometimes it's sunny and then the clouds just roll in from the hills. Our daily schedule is pretty full. We have girls coming from all over, so the dorms are always buzzing with some kind of activity. It’s not always quiet, that’s for sure. In the classrooms, it’s mostly about the books and the lessons. We have a lot of staff who live on-site, so it feels a bit like a small village sometimes. We’ve got the dining hall where everyone meets up, and that’s usually the loudest part of the day. Keeping a school this size running takes a lot of effort from everyone involved. We’re just regular people trying to keep the lights on and the lessons moving forward. There’s always a list of things to fix or tidy up. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk. We like being out here in this part of Dehradun, away from the heaviest traffic.
