Summer Valley School

Summer Valley School is located at 18, Teg Bahadur Road, right here in the heart of Dehradun. It’s an older part of town, and the road can get quite busy when school lets out. The building has been around for a while, and it has that typical look of schools in this region. We have students coming in from all over the city, not just the immediate neighborhood. Every day is pretty much the same routine. The bells ring for the periods to change, and you can hear the shuffle of feet in the corridors. We have a playground where the kids spend their breaks, and it gets quite loud with all the shouting and games. Our teachers are busy people who spend most of their day at the blackboard or grading papers in the staff room. It’s not a place for much fluff. We just stick to the curriculum and try to make sure the students are actually reading their books. The trees around the property provide some nice shade when it gets warm in the afternoons. Sometimes the traffic on Teg Bahadur Road makes it hard to pull out of the gate, but we’ve all gotten used to it over the years. We don’t spend much time on fancy decorations or big speeches. It is just a school where children come to study and hang out with their friends until the final bell rings and everyone heads home for tea.
