The Indian Academy School

Dehradun has changed a lot over the years, but out here on Byepass Road, we just keep doing our thing. The Indian Academy School is situated where it’s easy enough for people to find us without getting stuck in the very middle of city traffic. It’s a standard setup. We have the classrooms, the staff room where we drink way too much tea, and the yard where the kids spend their energy. The mountain air is nice, though in the winter it gets a bit chilly in the mornings before the sun hits the building. We don’t have some big marketing team writing stuff for us. We just make sure the gates are locked at the right time and the kids have their books. There is always a bit of mud when it rains, which is often enough here. We just deal with it. The building is solid, and we try to keep the paint fresh when we have the time and budget. Most parents come from the nearby residential areas. They know us, and we know them. It’s a local school for local people. We don't try to be something we aren't. It’s just about getting through the syllabus and making sure the day goes by without any major problems. That’s how we’ve always run things here on the Byepass Road. It’s a bit of a trek for some, but the buses usually arrive on time. We like the space we have out here in Dehradun City.
