Selaqui International School

It’s pretty quiet out here on Chakrata Road in Selaqui. We’ve been here in Dehradun for a while now. Running a school like this takes a lot of work every single day. The kids stay here, so it’s not just classes from nine to four. We wake up early, get breakfast going, and the teachers are usually around if someone needs help with homework or just wants to talk. It gets a bit cold in the winters, but the air is fresh. We have students coming from all over. They spend their terms here, playing on the fields and hanging out in the dorms after study hours. Sometimes things get messy, or a schedule needs changing, but that’s just how it is when you have hundreds of teenagers in one place. We focus on the books, sure, but there’s a lot of sports and other stuff too. The campus has plenty of trees and we try to keep it looking decent. Most of us live on-site or nearby, so it feels like a small village. Parents come to visit on weekends and we see them walking around the grounds with their children. It’s a busy life, keeping everything running smoothly, from the kitchen to the classrooms. We don’t try to be anything fancy, just a place where kids can grow up and learn what they need to. It’s home for them for most of the year, so we just try to keep things steady.
