Indian Public School

You have to head out towards Rajawala, going through Prem Nagar, to find Indian Public School. It is a bit further out from the main Dehradun city center, which means there is a lot more open space around us. The air feels a little different out here, maybe because of all the greenery nearby. It’s a fairly large campus compared to the schools tucked away in the narrow city lanes. We have kids who come from quite a distance, so the buses are a big part of our daily life. The mornings start early with the sound of engines and students hopping off with their heavy bags. We have various buildings for different subjects, and a big field where most of the physical activity happens. It’s a lot of walking back and forth between the blocks for the teachers and the older students. We don’t have all the latest gadgets in every room, but we have enough to get the lessons taught properly. The winters are especially beautiful here, even if it’s hard to get out of bed for the early start. Most of the staff live nearby or commute from Prem Nagar. It’s a quiet sort of life out here in Rajawala. We focus on the basics—math, science, and languages—and making sure the kids have a safe place to be during the day. It’s just a regular school trying to do right by the families who send their children here.
