Ashworth Public School

Ashworth Public School started because we saw a lot of kids in Chandrabani needing a place nearby to study. We are right in Maheshwari Vihar, specifically in the Yamunotri Enclave area of Dehradun. It is a quiet spot, which is helpful for the kids to focus. When we first opened, things were a bit chaotic while we figured out the schedule, but we’ve settled into a nice routine now. Most of the teachers live close by in the neighborhood too. We spend our days making sure the classrooms are clean and the lessons for the next day are ready. Sometimes the power goes out or we have to deal with heavy rain leaking through a door, but that’s just how it is in Dehradun. We don't have fancy lobbies or anything like that. It's just a simple building with desks and chalkboards where students come to learn their subjects. A lot of parents stop by to chat about how their children are doing while they drop them off in the mornings. We know most of the families in this part of town by name. It’s a small community here.
