Ram Pyari High School

This high school is located on Rajpur Road, which most people in Dehradun know is one of the main veins of the city. We have been sitting here for quite a long time. The building has two floors and you can see the mountains on a clear day from the top windows. Being on such a major road means there is always a bit of traffic noise, but the students seem to tune it out when they are focusing on their work. We have teenagers coming in from all the nearby colonies. It is the kind of place where you see the same kids grow up from being small to being almost adults. The uniforms have stayed the same for as long as I can remember. We have a small library that smells like old paper, and it is a quiet spot for the ones who actually want to study. Most of the time, the courtyard is full of students chatting or practicing sports. It isn't a flashy institution with a website and all that, we just do our work and go home. The staff room is always full of tea cups and stacks of notebooks that need marking. It’s a bit disorganized at times, but we manage to get everything done before the final bell rings at three. It is just a regular school for regular people in the city. We don't have many fancy things, just the basics like blackboards and benches.
