Raja Ram Mohan Roy Academy

Out here in Clement Town, things are a bit quieter than the main Dehradun market. We are known as the Cambridge School to many of the older folks around the P O area. The academy has been standing for a long time. You can tell by the way the stone looks on some of the older parts of the building. It’s a big campus with plenty of space for the kids to run around during their break time. Tall trees grow here that have probably been around longer than any of us working here now. The walk from the main gate to the office takes a couple of minutes. Little ones find it a bit of a trek. During the rainy season, the ground gets a bit muddy, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. Classrooms here have seen thousands of students pass through over the decades. Desks are made of wood and have seen better days, though they are sturdy enough. Fancy technology isn't really our thing, so we mostly use blackboards and chalk. The bells ring loud enough to be heard across the whole neighborhood. People in Clement Town use our school as a landmark when giving directions. It’s a steady sort of place. Early every morning, the gates open, the buses roll in, and we get to work. Life here isn't complicated, just the daily routine of school and home. Everyone knows what to expect when they walk through the gates.
