Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam

Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam is located in Muni-Ki-Ret, right near the Kailash Gate. It’s a very recognizable spot for anyone living in this area. Being so close to the river and the pilgrim paths means there’s always a lot of movement outside our gates. The school itself is a collection of buildings that have been added to over the years. It’s not a perfectly planned campus; it’s more of a place that grew because it had to. There’s a lot of dust from the road, so we’re always sweeping the floors. The halls are wide and they stay relatively cool even when the sun is beating down on the courtyard. We have a lot of plants in pots near the entrance to make it look a bit more welcoming. Inside, the rooms are filled with old wooden furniture and blackboards that are a bit grey from use. We don't have much in the way of fancy tech. Most of the day is spent just following the timetable and making sure the lunch break doesn't turn into a riot. The bells are rung by hand, and you can hear them echoing across the street. It’s a simple, honest place where we just try to get the work done. The staff is mostly local people who have been here for years and know all the families in the neighborhood.
