Jaswant Modern Senior Secondary School

If you find yourself on Rajpur Road, you’ll see our place at Parsons Estate, number 91. It’s a busy part of Dehradun, so there’s always cars and people moving past the front gate. The school has a bit of a classic look to it, tucked away slightly from the main noise of the road. We have students from all over the local area. Some of them have been coming here since they were very small, and now they’re in their senior secondary years, almost ready to head off to college. The grounds have some nice trees that provide a lot of shade during the warmer months. We spend a lot of time keeping the place tidy, though the old walls always seem to need a bit of paint here and there. Inside, the stairs are made of stone and they’ve worn down a bit in the middle from all the feet walking up and down them every day. The office is right at the entrance, and there’s usually someone there to answer questions or just have a quick chat. We don't really do anything flashy. The classrooms are just standard rooms with blackboards and rows of chairs. During the winter, it gets quite chilly, so everyone wears their thick sweaters. It’s a simple life here at the school. We just show up, do the work, and make sure the kids are where they need to be. It’s a familiar routine that we’ve all grown very used to over the years.
