Doon Cambridge School

Doon Cambridge School is situated at 20-E Race Course, and it’s been a fixture in this area for quite a long while now. The location at Race Course is pretty well known in town, so people don’t usually have much trouble finding us when they come for a visit. The school building has a certain character to it, the kind you only get from years and years of being used by hundreds of students every single day. It’s not one of those shiny new glass structures; it’s a place made of brick and mortar that has seen a lot of graduations come and go. Inside, the hallways are a bit narrow and usually filled with the sound of someone reciting a poem or a teacher explaining a difficult math problem. We have a modest staff room where we sit and talk about how the kids are doing over our tea and lunch breaks. It’s a very grounded environment for everyone. We don't bother with corporate-sounding slogans or anything like that. We just show up, open the gates, and start the teaching for the day. The yard gets used for sports and the morning prayers, and it is usually pretty loud until the first bell finally rings. We have students from all sorts of backgrounds coming here, and they all just blend in once they put on their uniforms. It takes a lot of effort to keep the place organized and running, but we have a good team that has worked together for years.
