Running a school at 111 Rajpur Road in Dehradun keeps us on our toes. The traffic outside is almost constant, with cars and rickshaws honking all day long. Once you step inside the gates, though, it feels a bit more like a proper place for learning. We’ve been at this address for years, and the building shows its age in a few places, but it’s solid. We don’t have a lot of corporate polish here. It’s a working school. The hallways are narrow, and the stairs are worn down from thousands of feet walking up and down them. We spend a lot of our time just managing the flow of people. In the morning, it’s a bit of a squeeze getting everyone inside. The classrooms have high ceilings and old fans that hum while the teachers speak. We don't bother with fancy mission statements; we just focus on the lessons for the day. During the winter, the sun hits the front of the building nicely, and we see kids sitting out there during their break. It’s a busy, noisy, and sometimes messy place, but it’s where we spend our lives. We keep the registers updated and make sure the chalk is stocked. It’s just regular work for regular people who care about the neighborhood we are in.
