Carman Residential & Day School

Our address is 24 Nehru Road in the Dalanwala area. It’s an old part of town with a lot of trees and big houses, and we fit right into that. Carman has been around for a long time, and you can see it in the way the buildings look and how the garden has grown over the decades. We have a mix of students who live here on the grounds and others who just come in for the day. This keeps the place busy from early morning until quite late at night. The staff mostly lives nearby or right on the property, so we are always around if something needs fixing or if a student has a question. It’s not the kind of place with shiny glass walls or high-tech everything. We have wooden desks, old blackboards in some rooms, and a lot of history in the hallways. In the winter, it gets quite chilly, so we all wear our thick sweaters and try to stay warm during the morning assembly. We spend a lot of time just walking between the different buildings and the playing field. It’s a lot of physical work keeping a place this size going. We don’t talk much about grand visions; we just make sure the classes happen on time and the kids are fed and looked after. It’s a steady, quiet way to run a school on Nehru Road and we enjoy the routine.
