About Canterbury Bells School – Education in Dehradun
Our school is tucked away in Doiwala, which is on the outskirts of Dehradun. It’s a nice change from the crowded city streets. The air is a bit fresher up here. The building isn't anything you’d see in a magazine. It’s just a simple structure with a few floors and some windows looking out toward the hills. We have a small courtyard where we do the morning assembly. It’s usually pretty cold in the winters, so the kids come wrapped up in heavy sweaters. We don't have a big office or a reception desk with a fancy logo. Usually, you just walk in and find one of us in the staff room. We’ve got a handful of teachers who live right here in Doiwala. We know most of the families by their faces. It’s a quiet life. We focus on the books and the homework. Sometimes we take the kids for a walk nearby just to get them out of the classroom. The bell is just a piece of metal we hit with a hammer to let everyone know when the period is over. It’s an old-fashioned way of doing things, but it works fine for us. We aren't trying to be the most expensive or the most famous school. We’re just here for the kids in this part of Dehradun. It’s a humble place, and we like it that way, honestly. It feels more like a community than a business.
