Canfield School

Canfield School sits on the P O Road over in Clement Town. It’s a nice enough spot with a bit of peace compared to the busier parts of the city. We’ve got a fairly simple setup here. The school building isn't huge, but it has enough classrooms to fit the kids we have. There’s a bit of a playground where they can run around during the intervals, which usually gets quite loud with all the shouting and games. We try to keep the place looking decent, though the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint every now and then. The teachers here know most of the kids by name, which is one of the benefits of not being an enormous institution. Parents often stop by the gate to have a quick word with the staff, and it’s all very informal and friendly. We don't have a lot of high-tech equipment, but we have what we need to teach the basics properly. The walk to the school is lined with trees, and it’s a familiar route for most of the families living nearby. We just aim to provide a steady place for children to spend their day while they learn to read and write. It’s a regular school day for us—start in the morning, finish in the afternoon, and do it all again tomorrow without much drama. The bells ring on time, and the kids go home tired, which means it was a good day.
