Mount Litera Zee School

Down here at No 58/3 in Vandipaliyam, the school day starts pretty early. Cuddalore can get quite warm, so we like to get the children inside before the sun gets too high. Our building is easy to find if you are familiar with this part of town. We have the usual setup you would expect in a school like whiteboards, rows of desks, and some space for the kids to run around during their breaks. It is not a silent place by any means. You can hear the teachers talking and the kids answering back from the hallway. We do not try to be something we are not. We just focus on the books and making sure the students understand what they are reading. The staff room is always a bit cluttered with papers and tea mugs, which is just how it goes when you are busy. Parents drop by often to check on things or just to have a quick word at the gate. We know most of the families around here since we have been in Vandipaliyam for some time. When the bell rings at the end of the day, it is a bit of a scramble, but we make sure everyone finds their way home safely. It is a basic, honest way to run a school, and we just take it one day at a time here. There is always something to fix or a lesson to plan.
