Zenith Engineering Works

Zenith Engineering Works is tucked away over at No: 41 A in Maamarathottam. If you know the Ganesh Layout area in Ganapathy, you know it’s a mix of houses and small workshops like ours. We’ve been at this address for quite some time, and the neighbors are pretty much used to the noise by now. It’s a small operation, really. Just a few of us here making parts and making sure the machines don't break down mid-shift. The floor is concrete and has those dark oil stains that never really come out, no matter how much you scrub at them. We don't have a big sign or anything like that on the street. People usually find us because they know the neighborhood or someone told them to come here for a fix. Mornings start early before the sun gets too high and the heat becomes a problem. We open the big shutters and let the light in, then start on whatever is left over from yesterday’s list. Ganapathy is a busy place, but our little corner feels steady and predictable. We aren't doing anything world-changing, just basic engineering work that needs to be done right the first time. Sometimes the rain comes down hard on the metal roof and we have to move the materials away from the door, but otherwise, it’s just the same routine. We keep the tools organized, mostly, and try to keep the scrap pile from getting too high in the corner. It's just a regular shop where we put in the hours.
