Veejay Laksmi Engg Works Ltd

Our workshop is located at 150/6A1 on Union Tank Road, right in the first street of Periayanaicken Palayam. It’s a mouthful of a name for a place, but we just call it the shop. Coimbtore is known for engineering, and we’re just one of the many spots trying to do a good job. At Veejay Laksmi Engg Works Ltd, the floor is usually covered in metal shavings by noon. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. It’s just us, the lathes, and the welding equipment. The air is always a bit thick with the smell of oil and cut metal. We’ve got a small crew, mostly local folks who live just a short walk or bike ride away. We don't do things the corporate way with long meetings or powerpoint slides. If something needs fixing, we just talk about it over a cup of tea and then get to it. The walls are painted a dull grey and have old calendars hanging on them. It’s not a place for tourists, that’s for sure. We’ve got a rhythm here that works for us. Some days are long, especially when we have a big load to get out the door, but we don't mind the overtime much. It’s just the way things are in a place like this. We’ve been on Union Tank Road for quite a while now and the neighbors are all good people.
